Online individual therapy · Manhattan
Therapy for Upper East Side professionals
Make room for yourself, too.
You're dependable at work and present for everyone else. But the calendar fills up, your own needs slip down the list, and even a quiet evening doesn't feel restful. Online therapy gives you space to work on what needs to change, without another trip across Manhattan.
Lana Katz, LPC, LMHC
Being capable shouldn't mean being constantly available.
Who this is for
- You say yes before checking what you have room for.
- Work, family or caregiving leave little space to recover.
- You want to manage anxiety without lowering every expectation.
- You want practical changes you can use in your actual week.
When another kind of support may fit better
If you need immediate crisis care or a higher level of support, this online practice isn't the right starting point. If you're looking for couples sessions, these pages describe individual therapy.
You don't need to arrive with a perfect goal. A consultation can help us decide whether a focused, practical approach fits what you need.
How we work
- 01
Make the pressure specific
We identify which demands are yours, which you've taken on, and what is costing you the most.
- 02
Change the automatic yes
We look at the beliefs and reactions that make it hard to set limits, then practice a different response.
- 03
Protect what helps
We build boundaries and recovery habits you can maintain alongside work and personal commitments.
Your first session
Start with what's happening now.
We talk about what brought you here, how it shows up in your day, and what you want to feel or do differently. Together, we choose a starting point and identify a practical next step. You don't need to prepare a polished account of your life.
What you can take away
- Clearer priorities when everything feels urgent.
- More confidence saying no without overexplaining.
- Practical ways to interrupt worry and return to the moment.
Most people feel a change within a few sessions. Your pace and goals are individual.

Questions about therapy in Upper East Side
Do you have an office on the Upper East Side?
Sessions are online only right now. A NYC office is coming soon, but there is no Upper East Side office available for sessions today.
Can therapy fit around work and family commitments?
Online sessions remove the travel time. We'll discuss availability during your consultation. For each session, you'll need uninterrupted time, a private space and a stable connection.
Can we work on boundaries without making me less dependable?
Yes. The aim is to make your commitments more intentional, not to stop caring. We can practice ways to communicate limits and handle the discomfort that comes with them.
Do you take insurance?
This is a private-pay practice. Ask about fees and out-of-network options during your consultation.
