Therapy for Battery Park City & Financial District professionals
Let the workday end.
Living close to your Financial District office can shorten the commute without creating much distance from work. And a walk along the Battery Park City waterfront doesn't always stop tomorrow's demands from taking over tonight. We can work on how to leave work at work, even when it's nearby.
Lana Katz, LPC, LMHC
Your evenings deserve more than whatever energy work leaves behind.
Who this is for
- You check messages when you meant to be switching off.
- You carry workplace pressure into conversations at home.
- You have time away from work but don't feel recovered.
- You want to be more present without feeling you've lost control of your responsibilities.
When another kind of support may fit better
If you need immediate crisis care or a higher level of support, this online practice isn't the right starting point. If you're looking for couples sessions, these pages describe individual therapy.
You don't need to arrive with a perfect goal. A consultation can help us decide whether a focused, practical approach fits what you need.
How we work
- 01
Find what follows you home
We identify the worries, expectations and unfinished mental tasks that keep the workday going.
- 02
Build a transition
We develop realistic boundaries and routines that help you shift out of work mode, whether you work downtown or from home.
- 03
Reconnect with your life
We practice responding differently to stress so relationships, rest and your own priorities have more room.
Your first session
Start with what's happening now.
We talk about what brought you here, how it shows up in your day, and what you want to feel or do differently. Together, we choose a starting point and identify a practical next step. You don't need to prepare a polished account of your life.
What you can take away
- Practical ways to disconnect from work without ignoring responsibilities.
- Less spillover from work stress into your relationships.
- A clearer sense of what recovery looks like for you.
Most people feel a change within a few sessions. Your pace and goals are individual.

Questions about therapy in Battery Park City / Financial District
Do you offer therapy in both Battery Park City and FiDi?
Yes, through online sessions for people living or working in either neighborhood. There is no local office available for sessions today. A NYC office is coming soon.
Can I join a session from my office?
Yes, if you have a private room, a stable connection and uninterrupted time. A shared desk or public space isn't suitable for a confidential therapy session.
Can therapy help me switch off after work?
We can identify what makes it hard to disconnect and practice changes to your routines, boundaries and response to work-related anxiety. The aim is a more intentional transition, not simply telling yourself to relax.
Do you take insurance?
This is a private-pay practice. Ask about fees and out-of-network options during your consultation.
